Engagement Activities

Not only do the touring performing artists give public concerts each season, but they go into the schools and the community to give workshops, master classes, assemblies and lecture/demos. Often, these activities are made possible thanks to grants from WESTAF, the Western Arts Federation.

Courtesy Seats

Generous donations from local business and individuals make it possible to distribute DNACA performance tickets to community members who would not otherwise be able to attend, including mental health and substance abuse clients, low-income seniors, at-risk youth, and foster children.

North Coast Redwoods Writers' Conference

Since its inception in 2000, DNACA has been a cosponsor of and on the steering committee for the annual Coast Redwoods Writers’ Conference, held on the third weekend in September at the College of the Redwoods, Del Norte.

Arts Calendars, Information, and Networking

Arts and cultural events, grants, and opportunities are highlighted in the Arts Scene in each Thursday's Del Norte Triplicate as well as in the Community Arts Calendar on our website and on our social media platforms. DNACA facilitates meetings of the informal Del Norte Arts Coalition and participates in arts networking and advocacy throughout the community, state, and nation. Additionally, DNACA serves as a resource for individuals and organizations with arts-related questions.

Community Involvement

DNACA makes every effort to participate in events and committees that benefit the community, including those for the Chamber of Commerce, a steering committee for a new performing arts venue, and the Steering Committee for the Del Norte Nonprofit Alliance, etc.
